Time away from work is not time wasted. Your re-entry starts here.
A gap in your professional history is not a disqualification. It is context. The IMPACT Training Program does not ask you to explain or apologize for the time you spent caring for family, managing a health situation, relocating, or navigating circumstances that kept you out of the workforce. We ask you one question: are you ready to build something now?

This credit is an internal tuition fee adjustment only. It holds zero cash value and cannot be redeemed as a stipend, hardware allowance, internet credit, or cash disbursement of any kind. Credit is applied after acceptance and eligibility verification.
You qualify for the Returning Professional D&I Credit if you have been out of formal employment for 12 or more consecutive months at the time of your application to the IMPACT Training Program.
What We Need to Verify
The approximate date of your last employment (month and year).
Your primary reason for the gap (selected from a provided list: caregiving, health, relocation, further study, or other).
Returning to the workforce after a gap of 12 months or more is one of the hardest professional transitions to make in Kenya's formal job market. Many employers still penalize employment gaps on CVs, regardless of the reason. The VA path bypasses that dynamic entirely.
As a certified VA, your income is not determined by whether an employer is willing to overlook your gap. It is determined by the quality of your work and the professionalism of your client relationships. Your gap does not appear on your client invoice.
The IMPACT Training Program's structure is also well-suited to professionals re-entering the workforce. The self-paced design allows you to rebuild your professional rhythm gradually. The practical assignments build real portfolio work from day one. And the certification gives you a verifiable, dated credential that signals to any potential client or employer that you have been actively building skills, not simply waiting.
Kazi baada ya mapumziko ni safari mpya. Tunakusaidia kuanza vizuri.

A: No. The Returning Professional D&I Credit has a minimum gap of 12 months but no maximum. Whether your gap is one year or five years, the path back through VA certification is the same. The skills are taught from the ground up and your prior professional experience is an asset regardless of how long ago it was.
A: VA clients are hiring you for your skills and reliability, not your employment history. You do not submit a CV to acquire VA clients. You submit a proposal, demonstrate your capabilities, and deliver results. Your gap does not come up.
A: No. The program produces its own portfolio-building outputs as part of the curriculum. By the time you complete certification, you will have practical work samples that speak more directly to client needs than a traditional CV.
A: Most clients do not ask. If one does, you can simply say you were focused on personal development and have recently completed professional certification. The IMPACT certification gives you a concrete, dated credential to point to.
A: Live sessions are not mandatory but are strongly recommended. Students who attend and participate in live sessions receive extra credit. All sessions are recorded and available on demand within your cohort window if you cannot attend live.
A: Ndiyo. Kutunza familia kwa wakati wote kunakubaliwa kama sababu halali ya pengo la kazi katika programu yetu. Unastahili Mkopo wa D&I wa Wataalamu Wanaorejea.
