D&I Credit for

Recent Graduates

Your degree got you this far. Your skills will take you further.

Graduating in Kenya in 2026 means entering one of the most competitive job markets in the country's recent history. Unemployment among graduates is not a reflection of your potential. It is a reflection of a structural gap between what the formal job market offers and what the digital economy demands. The IMPACT Training Program exists to close that gap.

The Graduate Employment Gap in Kenya

Kenya's universities produce hundreds of thousands of graduates every year. The formal job market absorbs a fraction of them. The rest spend months, sometimes years, in a cycle of applications, interviews, rejections, and internships that do not pay. This is not a personal failure. It is a systemic one.

The IMPACT Training Program is not a replacement for formal employment. It is a parallel income and skill-building track that you can pursue right now, while you continue applying for the roles you trained for. Many IMPACT graduates find that completing the certification actually strengthens their formal job applications by demonstrating discipline, digital proficiency, and the ability to complete a structured program.

The digital economy in Nairobi and beyond is not waiting for the formal sector to catch up. Kenyan graduates who build professional VA skills in 2026 are entering a client market where demand for reliable, certified digital operators is growing faster than supply.

| FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My graduation was more than 24 months ago. Do I still qualify?

A: The Recent Graduate category has a 24-month window. If you graduated more than 24 months ago, check the Career Transitioner or Returning Professional categories, which may apply to your situation.

Q: Does the type of degree matter? Mine is in arts, not technology.

A: Your degree subject does not determine your eligibility for the Recent Graduate credit or your suitability for VA work. IMPACT graduates come from every academic background and professional VA skills are taught from the ground up.

Q: I graduated but have been doing casual work since then. Do I still qualify?

A: Yes. Your employment status after graduation does not affect your eligibility for the Recent Graduate D&I Credit. As long as you graduated within 24 months of your application, you qualify regardless of what you have been doing since.

Q: Can I apply for the Recent Graduate credit and also qualify as a Single Income Household?

A: Yes. D&I Credits stack across categories up to the Ksh 5,000 cap. If you are a recent graduate who is also the primary earner for your household, both credits apply and your combined reduction would be Ksh 2,500.

Q: I completed a diploma, not a degree. Does that count?

A: Yes. The Recent Graduate D&I Credit applies to degrees, diplomas, and certificate programmes from accredited institutions. The level of qualification does not determine eligibility.

Q: Will the certification help me get a formal job as well as VA clients?

A: Many ITP graduates use the certification to strengthen their formal job applications. Demonstrating that you completed a structured, competency-based program after graduation signals discipline and initiative to employers, regardless of the industry.

Q: How is VA work different from the unpaid internships I keep being offered?

A: VA work is client-based and paid from day one. You set your rate, agree it with your client, and invoice for work delivered. There is no probation period, no unpaid trial, and no promise of employment at the end. You own the relationship.

Q: Nilihitimu hivi karibuni lakini bado sijapata kazi. Je, ninastahili mkopo huu?

A: Ndiyo. Kama ulihitimu ndani ya miezi 24 iliyopita, unastahili Mkopo wa D&I wa Mhitimu wa Hivi Karibuni. Hali yako ya ajira sasa hivi haisababishi matatizo.
